What Recession? Interest in international search soars despite the downturn

International search marketing company WebCertain has announced record ticket sales for its International Search Summit SEO event which will be taking place in November this year.

Despite Finance Directors scrutinising every penny spent and marketing budgets being slashed, spend on online marketing, and in particular search is increasing and the interest in the International Search Summit supports this trend.

WebCertain has reported the highest first month ticket sales ever for the Summit, which has already been held three times in London and once in Oslo and is expecting the biggest attendance yet on November 19th.

Delivering the keynote will be Bill Hunt, who is widely regarded as one of the key thought-leaders on global search, and who through his roles as CEO of Global Strategies International and Director of Search at Neo@Oglivy has been involved in the development of global online strategy for some of the leading global brands.

Other speakers confirmed to speak include Shari Thurow (Omni Marketing Interactive), Motoko Hunt (AJPR), Sean Golliher (SEMJ.org) and Kristjan Mar Hauksson (Nordic eMarketing).

WebCertain’s Managing Director Andy Atkins-Krüger says, “Search marketing in general is becoming more popular, as it is easy to measure and is proven to have one of the best ROI’s of all marketing methods. In addition to this, companies are also having to turn their attention to new markets in order to guarantee a steady flow of business during these tough economic times. Emerging Markets such as China, Russia and India offer a wealth of opportunity yet many businesses are unsure how to effectively target potential customers in those markets.

Local search engines, searcher behaviour, cultural differences and language are just some of the issues which need to be taken into account when running international online campaigns and the international search summit offers delegates an insight into how to implement successful search campaigns across a range of markets.”

The International Search Summit SEO will be at the British Library in London on 19th November, 2009.

Tickets can be purchased at the early bird price of just £140 throughout July – visit www.internationalsearchsummit.com
