ECMK BREAKFAST BRIEFING: EPCs for Social Landlords

With the new legislation on rented dwellings coming into force on the 1st October 2008, are you confident that the EPCs you will be handing over to new tenants will be legal?

There are many issues surrounding this subject:
• Can you use existing data from previous surveys?
• Is there enough data – and is it accurate enough?
• Do you need to survey every property or can you use sampling techniques?
• Can you use data gathered by staff who are not accredited DEAs?

In principle, there are several ways to make the process of producing EPCs more efficient but you will need to make sure you comply with the quality requirements of your DEAs’ Accreditation Scheme – and with the Government’s operational guidelines – otherwise, the EPCs may not be valid.

As a Government approved Accreditation Scheme for Domestic Energy Assessors, ecmk is pleased to invite you to a breakfast briefing where we will talk through the implications of collecting data, using what data you already have, and what you need to do to comply with the regulations (and what will happen if you don’t). We will also discuss ways for you to extract extra value from the data you collect, beyond the production of EPCs.

The briefings will take place on:
3rd October in Milton Keynes at the ecmk offices
7th October- Birmingham
8th October – Basingstoke
9th October – Exeter
10th October – Manchester
14th October – Newcastle
