Shane Lowry Takes Home the Claret Jug to the Emerald Isle at the 148th Open Championship

The win turns the 21st of July into a banner day for Lowry as the Irish golfer makes history on Irish soil

The weekend tournament began well and as poor weather conditions encroached on the final day of play, Lowry didn’t miss a beat. What might have thrown some off their game made no ends to the Immedis’ brand ambassador. The 32-year old County Offaly resident led by six strokes and finished the Dunluce Links course at 15 under par bringing his total number of shots to 269. Shane Lowry’s success at the 148th Open Championship is an inspiring reminder of the rewards of tenacity and commitment to excellence.

Courage is not the willingness to go fearlessly against obstacles but feeling the fear and tackling the challenge anyway. Lowry himself admitted to feeling nervous at the beginning of play, but his trademark will and persistence carried him through to victory.

Shane Lowry burst onto the golf scene when he won the Irish Open as an Amateur in 2009. His sporting career has gone from strength to strength ever since, winning several international competitions including the Portuguese Masters in 2012 and the Abu Dhabi  HSBC Championship in early 2019.

The same grit and integrity that he demonstrated in The Open is what led Immedis to partner with Shane back in July 2017. Immedis is committed to delivering quality solutions to clients around the world, and we see that commitment to excellence mirrored in brand ambassador Shane Lowry and look forward to the continued collaboration.
