Norwegian oil industry salaries amongst highest in the world

Norwegian oil industry salaries amongst highest in the worldLast year, Norway topped the list of the highest salaries in the oil industry across the world, followed by Australia. A recent survey by Hays Oil & Gas showed that Norwegian oil industry income is 75% higher than the global average.

Hays Oil & Gas put this down to the fact that “both countries have limited access to qualified workforce combined with a high demand. The result is very high salaries.”

Norway is the world’s seventh largest exporter of oil and the second largest exporter of natural gas. The petroleum sector represents 25% of the gross domestic product, 25% of state income, 50% of export earnings, and provides 250,000 jobs in the country.

To keep up with the high demand, Norwegian companies have been using TUjobs.com – an online recruitment company specialised in online recruitment for the oil and gas sector. The website features daily posts about new job vacancies in the Norwegian oil industry.

Here are a few examples of job posts on TUjobs this week:

•  Senior Engineer Subsea facility at Experis in Rogaland
