Sparks fly as Hammersmith company undertakes charity run

Employees from Hammersmith-based Avanta Managed Offices are planning to take part in a 5.6 Km race to help raise funds for the UK’s leading children’s medical research charity, Sparks, as part of the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge 2009.

“Our team is made up of ten people from across our 18 business centres,” comments Anna Haslam, Avanta’s marketing manager, who will be leading the team when the race starts in Battersea Park at 6.45pm on the evening of Thursday 9th July. “We are really looking forward to this event as we’ve got a really enthusiastic team taking part and are hoping to raise over £1,000 for Sparks.

“As a serviced office company, we are committed to giving back to the local community and as Sparks supports some of the most important medical research undertaken today into childhood illnesses we endeavour to raise all the support, and funds, we can to ensure that the work of this exceedingly worthwhile charity continues. In addition to undertaking this charity run, Avanta will once again be sponsoring the Sparks Race Day at Kempton Park on September 21st as part of our ongoing support of this great cause.”

Paul Connew, Sparks director of communications, adds “Whether it’s on the horse-racing course or pounding the pavements and parks, Avanta’s great team never fail to go that extra mile for Sparks.

“Every penny they raise helps make a vital difference to so many young lives through the pioneering research Sparks doctors and scientists are carrying out across the whole spectrum of paediatric medicine. The goal we share with Avanta is to help as many babies as possible to be born healthy and grow up healthy. And the only way to achieve that is through pioneering research.”
