Quentin Harris

From Detroit, Quentin was inspired by many of the legends of his hometown: Motown, Prince and P-Funk. Early techno instilled in Harris, a love of all forms of music. Today, he is recognized as one of the leaders in the field of deep house. It has been said that his work re-vitalized what had become a saturated and tired genre.

He has captivated the attention of an increasingly attentive audience with the creation of house classics out of such accapellas as India Aries Ready For Love (also culled from the Motown CD) and Donnies Cloud 9. He has continued to evolve as a producer and DJ willing to take risks with genre.

DJ Spen & The Muthafunkaz

Spen began his career at a very early age, producing mix shows and in 1986 he wrote and recorded a track called Girl You Know It’s True, which was later covered and made famous by Milli Vanilli.

Spen’s radio career continued to grow and lead him to working at various FM radio stations in the Baltimore and Washington areas. Spen’s production talents lead him to create remixes for some of clubland’s biggest names, such as Diana Ross, Everything but the Girl, Ann Nesby, and Shaun Escoffery.

He has formed a new group called the MuthaFunkaz whose first release, The Best I Can, shows a new side of Spen. With a career span of more than 20 years and his famous studio and production work, Spen has become one of the most sought-after DJs in the U.S.

Marc Evans

Singer/songwriter, Marc A. Evans, a native Baltimorean, was born into music, with his father being a jazz musician. Having been inspired by lyrical greats like Jimi Hendrix and Marvin Gaye, Evans decided to focus as much on his lyrical development as his musical craftsmanship.

In 2004 he released his first independent recording, Marc A Evans: The First Seven Years. In 2005, while working with the Muthafunkas as a session vocalist, he was given the opportunity to write. The result, two hit singles; “The Way You Love Me” and “I Don’t Want You Anymore”.

This truly unforgettable launch night will explore the roots of House music, from its origins in Funk and Soul to present day tunes keeping it live all the way.
