WESTMINSTER REACHES OUT WITH £100K TO OVER 50’S

Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES), in partnership with Age Concern Westminster and Open Age, are spearheading a £100,000 project backed by the City of Westminster to deliver a range of activities and classes to engage the over 50’s in Westminster.

Reaching U offers a range of activities and classes to help the over 50’s maintain active lifestyles and encourage participation.

Taster sessions held in Pimlico and Maida Vale have already proved successful with a many people participating in the varied range of courses including Art, Line Dancing, Tai Chi and digital photography.

Westminster Adult Education Services’ coordinator for the project, Lauretta Von Paulson said that Reaching U was a great project to be involved in.

“We are very pleased to be involved with the Reaching U project because it gives us the opportunity to reach learners who might not otherwise get involved,” Lauretta said. “Our goal is to increase participation within the community, particularly from the over 50’s, by offering fun and informative classes in venues where people feel relaxed and comfortable.”
