Good Agricultural and Collecting Practices (GACP) Certification Granted To Plena Global

Victoria, BC, Canada, September 14, 2020  — Plena Global Holdings Inc. (the “Company” or “Plena Global”), a leading international operator and a licensed producer of pharmaceutical-grade medical cannabis, has been granted Good Agricultural and Collecting Practices (“GACP”) certification by CUMCS (Control Union Medical Cannabis Standard) for its Econnabis subsidiary in Colombia after successfully meeting the CUMCS’s guidelines for quality and consistency on the cultivation and harvest of medical cannabis.

“This international certification recognizes our efforts and reinforces our position as the leading B2B medical cannabis producer in Latin America.” Stated Richard Zwicky, CEO of Plena Global, continuing “Receiving this highly sought-after certification on the first attempt, and for all areas of our facility, which is uncommon.  Our facility in Colombia has now been recognized as producing the finest quality and highest-grade medical cannabis in the world.”

As Ron Hudcosky, Head of Quality stated, “at Plena Global we have built a Quality Management System aligned with ISO 9001:2015 that encompasses cultivation through extraction, and ultimately in our derivatives and final products.  This is a culture we have built, ensuring we meet the highest quality standards globally, which is reflected in the quality of our products.”

This new GACP certification further expands Plena Global’s sizable capacity to export pharmaceutical-grade cannabis products to international markets.

“GACP certification extends beyond certifying the operational practices, it embodies the philosophy of our organization and also recognizes our dedication to sustainability,” continued Stefan Meyer, Plena Global’s Global Head of Strategy, “and this philosophy stretches from patients to the community and our socially responsible practices.”

Control Union Certifications, a Dutch based leading worldwide certification body, is a global leader in medical cannabis certification. The CUMCS certification standard is based on GACP guidelines of The World Health Organization (WHO), the GACP Guidelines of the European Medicines Agency, Guidelines of the Dutch Government for Cannabis for Medical Use, and the International Standard for Good Agriculture Practice. CUMCS certified cultivation sites are compliant with these GACP Guidelines. CUMCS examines the consistency of medicinal plants, tracking of plants from cloning to harvest, and the quality of process for propagation, growing, cultivation, drying and packaging, among other areas.  The use of Agrotrac, Plena Global’s proprietary software, was specifically highlighted by CUMCS as increased technology supporting compliance through traceability of the varieties, management of the cultivation steps, and inventories of plant materials at each stage of the lifecycle.

“Obtaining GACP certification is recognition of Plena Global’s strict adherence to the highest international operating standards. CUMCS has provided us with an independent review and certification of the quality of our operations and the rigor of our procedures, highlighting the talent and dedication of our highly trained, world-class team. Being awarded this highest level of quality certification recognizes the value we bring to the global medical cannabis supply chain,” said Richard Zwicky.
