Webix – New JavaScript Widget Library That Saves Your Time

XB Software, a developer of high-quality web applications, today announced the first release of Webix, an extremely small (about 100 kb of compressed code) and ultra fast JavaScript library for building desktop and mobile web apps based on the latest web standards (HTML5, CSS3).

The Webix library provides a rich set of JavaScript UI widgets ranging from simple widgets, like a menu or combobox, to highly interactive charts and powerful data tables.
All Webix widgets are compatible with the latest web browsers allowing developers to create web apps that work in Internet Explorer 8+, Google Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox and Opera.
Web apps developed with this library run correctly on multiple platforms. Mobile web apps based on the Webix library have a native look-and-feel and operate flawlessly on popular touch devices, such as iPad, iPhone, Windows 8 devices, and Android phones and tablets.
“We have been providing software development services in various business areas for many years. Having created Webix, we were able to save our company energy aimed at the development of web app interfaces and significantly reduce the cost of end products, which is a great advantage for our customers,” – said Nickolay Borisyuk, chief technology officer of XB Software. “With Webix, you can build a prototype of rather complex applications within just a few hours. I believe the Webix library can be a great help to web developers who want to save their time while writing nice-looking, cross-browser web apps.”
The server can be organized in several ways. Webix widgets are compatible with MVC frameworks (MVC.Net, Ruby on Rails, PHP, Yii) and can be easily integrated with server-side data feeds. It’s also possible to use Server Side Connectors (for PHP, Java, ASP.NET) that allow the creation of fully functional data feeds in a few lines of code.
Webix provides integration with other popular frameworks and libraries, including jQuery, Backbone.js, Mercury, NicEdit, Tinymce, and Google, Nokia and Yandex maps
Other Webix features are dynamic data loading, easy styling with CSS, offline support and external/internal drag-and-drop operations. Possessing all mentioned advantages, Webix provides a powerful solution for building impressive desktop and mobile web apps with JavaScript and HTML5.
Webix is dual licensed under open-source GNU GPL v3 and commercial licenses. The commercial licensing system is very flexible with prices starting at $170 per developer. Developers can acquire licenses and support plans separately, or save money by buying economic packages (Team and Enterprise).
