Google Challenged by International Startup – CAM UP

The European School of Economics aims to prepare a new generation of leaders and entrepreneurs and challenges them to face adversity and global challenges with honour and integrity. Two former students who are being put to the test by international giant Google, are proving that regardless of the size or the force of their opposition, their values and ideas won’t be compromised.

In 2008, ESE alumni Joseph D’Anna, and Elia D’Anna created CamUp, a ground-breaking social media platform that revolutionises the way people interact, enjoy and share digital media. Users are transformed from passive spectators to active participants and offers unrivalled interaction within groups of people. This innovation has been so novel to the social media network that it was awarded first prize in the ‘Innovation’ category at MIPTV’s inaugural Connected Creativity forum launched in Cannes in 2011.

Apparently that is not all who took notice of CamUp as on July 2, 2012 CamUp cited Google in the Federal Court of California for violations committed by the international firm including appropriation of trade secrets and copyright infringement at the expense of CamUp.

These graduates are proving that in a competitive and complex world, the educational philosophy instilled in them at ESE, that “the Dream is the most real thing there is”, carries value beyond the borders of the classroom and will remain with them throughout their plight to see their dreams actualized.
