AMBERGREEN APPOINTS GARETH ALEXANDER AS WEB APPLICATION DEVELOPER

Ambergreen has announced the appointment of Gareth Alexander as Web Application Developer.

The news follows Ambergreen’s acquisition of Lightershade in 2008, a move to complement existing skills in online marketing, search, and consultancy with the ability to maintain and produce rich media and interactive web applications.

This evolution of the agency allows Ambergreen to pioneer cutting edge search marketing campaigns and help clients convert and retain online customers at impressive rates.

Gareth will work across a number of clients within Ambergreen, he has recently finished working with Edinburgh Winter Festivals, building the Christmas and Hogmanay websites and will work closely with a number of Ambergreen clients including Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the Scottish Arts Council.

Before joining Ambergreen Gareth worked for Sense Scotland, a Glasgow based charity working with children and adults with challenging communication difficulties, where he was IT Manager for six years.

In this role Gareth was tasked with developing an online presence for the charity and it was during this period he honed his skills in web development.

As a Strathclyde University graduate with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, European Studies and Business management, Gareth developed his interest in computers during his dissertation work on 3D virtual reality systems.

Gareth says: “I was attracted to Ambergreen mainly because they have a really good presence in the industry. Being able to work with other experts in the field and having to raise my game personally and professionally for this company is really exciting.”

“Ambergreen is all about thinking on a different level and it is fantastic to join an agency which allows such creative freedom and always strives for greater things.”

“Apart from my passion for web development my background has given me strong analyst skills and I’m able to take a holistic view of what is required by the client.”

Gareth also ran a music promotion business in his spare time with his wife. Specialising in heavy metal, they put on concerts across Glasgow, bringing in well-known artists from all across the world.
