Singer Songwriter Ben Montague takes Pole Position at the Formula 1 party

Debut EP release: Can’t Hold Me Down – 23rd March
Media showcase – 229 Great Portland Street, W1W 5PN (on stage at 9.30pm) on Tuesday 17th February

It was Eminem who said “Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity to seize everything you ever wanted – one moment. Would you capture it or just let it slip?”

These words must have rung true with singer songwriter Ben Montague who, after discovering that Formula 1 boss Eddie Jordan was one of his fans, found himself rubbing shoulders with A-listers galore at one of his infamous Grand Prix parties. Following an impromptu collaboration by none other than Queen’s Roger Taylor and Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason the question was put to the crowd “Are there any musicians in the house?”

With nothing to lose and everything to gain Ben took to the stage, discussed a brief set list and delivered the performance of his life flanked by two of music’s biggest legends. Half an hour, and a standing ovation later, a star was born!

Word soon spread about Ben’s talent and it wasn’t long before he was picked up by esteemed producer Peter-John Vetesse, whose track record covers Simple Minds, Annie Lennox and The Bee Gees. Creative studio sessions followed with BMI award winning songwriter Jamie Hartman (the man behind the Will Young hit All Time Love) and the result was Ben’s debut EP ‘Can’t Hold Me Down’. Set for release on 23rd March it offers a modern twist on many classic songwriters and is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases from a debut artist this year.

As well as one of this country’s most promising songwriters Ben is a captivating live performer in his own right. After touring through Nashville, New York and LA he caught the ear of US publishers Kobalt who have since introduced him to some of their top writers. Back on home soil he has slots booked at this year’s Isle of Wight festival and T in the Park with many tipping him as the next big thing. Ben’s UK tour continues at the following dates:
