Thames Valley University wins another award

Thames Valley University has been awarded for its innovative ‘Love Your Campus’ campaign.

The Further Education Award in the Internal Communications category was awarded to Thames Valley University (TVU) at The College Marketing Network’s 21st Anniversary Conference at the Hilton Hotel in Warwick.

TVU’s Love Your Campus campaign is the university’s way of promoting better conditions for students and staff by encouraging positive behaviour. A survey of university users revealed that life is pretty good at Thames Valley; but it also revealed a slew of simple things people can do to improve the environment further.

Arriving to lectures on time, having mobile phones switched off and refraining from swearing are just some of the things staff and students would like to see in fellow university users.

The university set about creating an imaginative and inspiring internal advertising campaign to promote a simple set of positive behaviour guidelines called Love Your Campus.

The College Marketing Network’s FE First Awards are now well established as the sector’s annual opportunity to celebrate marketing best practice. They showcase the excellent and imaginative work that is being achieved in further education colleges across the UK.

TVU is proud of being recognised for its work in making university life better. The campaign had already won a Heist award and now boasts an FE Award too!

The FE First Award judges said: “‘Love Your Campus’ was an excellent imaginative campaign which worked well with the college’s corporate image. The aim was to engage with students from all backgrounds, give them a sense of pride in the college and get them to change behaviour: a challenging task, based on research. Evaluation showed a good rate of student awareness. The entry was clear and well-presented.”
