Cruises-Direct launch generates huge uptake in cruise holiday bookings

April 15th, 2009 Jenny No comments

The new website features 30 major cruise operators and is backed up by a customer service line operated by accredited cruise holiday consultants.

Cruises-Direct has seen a year-on-year growth of 94% in cruise holidays.

Cruise operators featured on www.cruises-direct.co.uk include Celebrity Cruises<, Oceania, P&O and Royal Caribbean.

There are plans to develop the website and online features for customers further by including the option to book cruise holidays online and add more booking options allowing holidaymakers more customisation to build tailor-made holidays.

Neil Smillie, head of Holidays-Direct, said: “Our vision for the new website is to offer holidaymakers the most comprehensive range of cruises at competitive prices.“

“Even though we have only recently launched, we are already working on a number of initiatives which will give our site increased competitive edge when it comes to booking cruise trips.”

Holidays-Direct says Cruises-direct.co.uk is major part of its focus for 2009, predicting the further growth of the sector.

In recent years the image of cruise holidays as the choice of retired people has changed. Increasingly, cruise holidays have become the choice of families and younger couples who enjoy the luxurious on-board facilities and opportunities to visit a number of countries during one holiday – all at a relatively low price.

Itineraries for 2010 cruises have already been published on www.cruises-direct.co.uk for the Queen Elizabeth and Princess Cruises, amongst others.

The most popular destinations for cruise holidays are the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and the Norwegian Fjords.

You can win more sales from your web site

March 23rd, 2009 ARienstra No comments

“In any recession there are winners and losers, businesses fail through lack of appropriate action, whatever it might be; fighting to reduce costs must go in parallel with battling to win more sales.” OsCar Systems help organisations find the course of action most likely to ensure that they come out on top, fitter and stronger to take advantage of the state of the economy, not fall victim of it. Each of the sections below can be a paper in its own right but this is great start to enable you to get a focus on what you should be doing to develop your successful strategy.

Graham Bailey has amassed a huge wealth of experience in finance, sales and marketing in companies ranging from the largest in the world to successful start ups built from nothing and being sold often in difficult economic climates. He is now applying the knowledge he has gained to help companies in the UK and Europe achieve strength and success. His simple mantra is “Use knowledge of your product, your customers and your business to make the right decisions and act on them now.”

1. Know your customers – you know your product or service; you may feel that it has universal appeal. Sadly or fortunately, this is rarely the case, as targeting the universe is more than a little problematic. What you require is a deal of soul searching to identify exactly who would derive the most benefit and WHY. Identifying the needs of your ideal customer is key to everything else you will do. TRAININGLONDON WEBSITE LAUNCHED AT CITY HALL

December 1st, 2008 AElliott No comments

Westminster Adult Education Service (WAES) in partnership with the 15 adult learning providers from across London launched the TrainingLondon website at London’s Living Room, City Hall last week.

The TrainingLondon website www.traininglondon.net has been created to provide a central portal for employers to seek local training opportunities for their staff across London through the Train to Gain initiative.

The 15 training providers working together under the banner of TrainingLondon have set out to support the government skills agenda recently set out in the Leitch report.

The Leitch Report shows that the UK must urgently raise achievements at all levels of skills and recommends that it commit to becoming a world leader in skills by 2020. This means doubling attainment at most levels of skill. “Our natural resource is our people – and their potential is both untapped and vast. Skills are the key to unlocking that potential. The price of our country will be enormous higher productivity, the creation of wealth and social justice”, Lord Leitch.

Eileen O’Gara, Deputy Director of Curriculum and Quality for WAES stated: “This is an exciting opportunity for Adult Education providers to work together to develop the learning and skills agenda for employees and to support employers in building and developing their workforce.”

Train to Gain is a new service to help businesses across England get the training they need to succeed and stay successful. The scheme will train and up-skill employees in the workforce up to a full Level 2 national vocational qualification (NVQ), which is the equivalent of 5 good GCSEs. This will be free training for the candidates and their employers will have the opportunity to arrange training through many various options.

For more information on the opportunities WAES has to offer your business, please contact Eileen O’Gara on 020 7641 8157.

New website uses personality test to identify ‘personality twins’

July 4th, 2008 AElliott No comments

tellmetwin.JPGTellMeTwin, is a new online resource using personality tests to link users with people who share interests, personality types and outlooks on life.

Fun but useful, TellMeTwin helps ‘twins’ to influence each others’ choices with recommendations ranging from films and books, to art and collectibles. Website members will be able to make real-life friends and useful like-minded contacts when the website opens this summer.

Currently in its Beta testing stage, TellMeTwin is inviting interested people to register now to be considered for participation and take the Tell Me Twin personality tests.

As well as the best-matched users, twins will also be able to get in touch with their most romantically compatible links and even their ‘evil twins’ – members who differ most from themselves. Trying to make friends with someone you know is your polar opposite from the very beginning could prove an interesting and fun personal experiment.

TellMeTwin uses its clever new software to gather and organise huge amounts of material generated by users, and then employs sophisticated mathematical systems to match the data to other users.

The website’s slogan “Digging deeper” is based on its deft at identifying members’ closest twins from an eventual pool of millions through intelligent character mapping and mathematical calculations, with previously unknown depth.

The website was dreamt up by Icelandic entrepreneur Einar Sigvaldason whilst at Berkeley University in 2001. “I founded TellMeTwin because I wanted movie and song recommendations from someone who I can trust to think like me”, said Sigvaldason. “I’ve also always loved self-psychoanalysis. I felt there was a need for an online application; not just personality tests but also a way to rate my likes, dislikes and life experience in order to map myself more deeply than before.”

Comprising self psychoanalysis, comparisons of personal likes and dislikes and the personality test, Tell Me Twin is a comprehensive way of getting in touch with useful new contacts, or simply making new friends through more detailed filtering than seen on the web before..

For further information on TellMeTwin and personality tests, visit www.TellMeTwin.com.

Tell Me Twin – the new social networking site

June 7th, 2008 chrisb No comments

Tell Me TwinAn innovative website which finds people’s ‘twins’ from all over the world is scheduled for launch this summer.

Tell Me Twin is a groundbreaking new website which enables users to find other people who think just like them and use their profile to help make daily life choices.

The Wikipedia inspired site uses a sophisticated range of personality tests and online self psychoanalysis (the rating of likes and dislikes), and then compares results using an advanced set of mathematical formulae to reveal other users with the closest personalities.

Users will also be able to identify and interact with their ‘evil twins’ (those with opposite tastes and personality), and even find best romantic matches.

Tell Me Twin aims to be one of the Internet’s most dynamic tools for collecting and analysing huge amounts of user generated data – and then using sophisticated analysis to match like-minded individuals.

Users will quickly be able to build up a bank of twins with whom to share stories, interests and recommendations in complete safety. The website will not distribute users’ private data and the user will remain in charge of their own identity, with the ability to delete whatever they want.

Tell Me Twin’s slogan is “Digging Deeper”, a reference to its unrivalled ability to compare and match people’s tastes and personalities, ultimately opening up a whole new world of film, art, books and collectibles that the user may never have known about before.

Tell Me Twin is currently in Beta Testing and is inviting potential members to sign up now and help fine tune the website to their personal taste.

For more information on Tell Me Twin and to sign up to the Beta Testing phase visit www.TellMeTwin.com
