Natural slimming aid from arctic shellfish

October 30th, 2008 chrisb No comments

A new natural weight management product called LipoSan Ultra uses modified chitosan from the arctic waters around Iceland.

LipoSan Ultra is a natural slimming aid which is made from shellfish caught by Icelandic fishermen in the cold waters of the North Atlantic.

The natural weight loss product uses chitosan, a dietary fibre extracted from the shells of the North Atlantic Coldwater Shrimp (Pandalus Borealis). The chitosan in LipoSan Ultra is scientifically proven to reduce body weight in humans as it works by binding with dietary fats in the digestive system.

In LipoSan Ultra the chitosan is modified and optimised to enhance its solubility and fat-binding performance. Succinic acid is incorporated into the chitosan to significantly alter its physical structure. The result is a highly integrated organic acid/fibre matrix that readily solubilises in the equivalent of stomach acid in less than 5 minutes. This is in comparison to regular chitosan that can take upwards of 2 hours to dissolve.

LipoSan Ultra is so soluble in the human digestive system that it can be taken at mealtimes, instead of 30 to 60 minutes before, like generic chitosans.

The natural slimming aid is an important new tool in the seemingly endless struggle for weight loss and will appeal to consumers looking for a natural weight management solution.

Visit the Liposan website for more information on LipoSan Ultra natural slimming aid.

LipoSan Ultra is a revolutionary new weight management solution based on natural sea products.

LipoSan Ultra is a natural dietary supplement which uses chitosan from the shells of crustaceans caught by Icelandic fishermen in the cold, abundant waters of the North Atlantic.

Chitosan is a natural dietary fibre which binds with dietary fats in the digestive system. Based on existing chitosan technology, the LipoSan team went a step further and made a weight loss product which was convenient and efficient for everyday use.

LipoSan Ultra is scientifically proven to significantly reduce body weight in human clinical studies. The chitosan used is modified and optimised to enhance its solubility and fat-binding performance. LipoSan Ultra is so soluble in the human digestive system that it can be taken at mealtimes, instead of 30 to 60 minutes before, like generic chitosans.

LipoSan Ultra’s production starts with chitosan and ends up as something completely different. Succinic acid, a GRAS (Generally Recognised As Safe) food additive, is incorporated into the chitosan to significantly alter its physical structure. The result is a highly integrated organic acid/fibre matrix that readily solubilises in the equivalent of stomach acid in less than 5 minutes. This is in comparison to regular chitosan that can take upwards of 2 hours to dissolve.

As a by-product of the food industry, LipoSan Ultra is a truly natural and environmentally-friendly dietary supplement. In a world where calorie counting can turn into a confusing nightmare, and getting to the gym every day isn’t always an option, LipoSan Ultra is an important new tool in the seemingly endless struggle for weight control or weight loss.

Reno hosts Geothermal Energy Conference & Expo

September 22nd, 2008 chrisb No comments

The biggest and most important geothermal energy event in the US will take place in Nevada between October 5th and 8th.

The 2008 Geothermal Energy Conference & Expo will be held in Reno, Nevada – with hundreds of geothermal experts and businesses expected to attend from all around the world.

The annual event, which was formerly called the GEA Trade Show and GRC Annual Meeting, will play host to a wide range of companies from the US and abroad within the geothermal power industry.

The conference is expected to draw over 1,000 participants, with more than 70 companies represented in the accompanying trade show. Geothermal Energy 2008 will be held at the Peppermill, Reno’s premiere hotel and casino in Reno.

The geothermal energy industry in the US and elsewhere is currently seeing a surge in public and government interest with senators John McCain and Barack Obama both having expressed their support for geothermal power, which is both a clean and renewable source of energy.

Glitnir Bank, which has predicted dramatic growth in geothermal projects in the US and internationally, will be one of the main sponsors of the event. The bank is a global niche player in two specialised industry sectors; sustainable development of the seafood industry and growth in the geothermal energy industry, with 13 percent of the bank’s loan book and 43 percent of its corporate advisory services derived from these sectors in 2007.

Glitnir’s Global Geothermal Energy Team and US Team will both be present. Glitnir will have a booth in the Expo Hall (Booth number 221, 320).

For more information on the 2008 Geothermal Energy Conference & Expo, and to schedule a meeting with Glitnir Bank at the event, visit www.glitnirbank.com/reno.

Almost half of Brits confused over risk of skin cancer

September 21st, 2008 chrisb No comments

New research commissioned by Tesco suggests that as many as one in five (23%) Brits are not even aware of what UVA and UVB rays are, let alone the damage they can cause, despite the fact that they are present come rain or shine.

Despite experiencing another wash-out summer with little sunshine, Brits are continuing to put themselves at risk from harmful UVA and UVB sun rays, even though skin cancer is now the most common form of cancer in the UK.

40% of those asked to correctly identify what UVA and UVB sun rays are could not do so – and 13% believed that only UVA rays were harmful. They were also unable to identify that both UVA and UVB rays could cause skin damage and cancer.

“It’s clear from this research that consumers are still confused, said Duncan Graham, a spokesperson at Tesco. “UVA and UVB rays both cause damage, even when the sun is not shining, which is why consumers should seek broad spectrum sun protection that offers both UVA defence and SPF protection against UVB rays.

“UVB can cause immediate and obvious sun damage in the form of sunburn, whereas the damage that UVA rays are causing in the short-term is hard to see, but both increase the risk of skin cancer in the long-term,” he added.

Over half of those questioned (52%), do not even have a basic understanding of what SPF (sun protection factor) stands for, or the important role it plays in safe sun-exposure. The survey also found that alarmingly as many as one in six people admit they still never buy sun cream, with the worst culprits from Northern Ireland (37%), followed by those in the South West (21%).
