Medical tourism advancements in Iceland at the Asbru Enterprise Park

asbru-hospital12An innovative venture by Kadeco, combining medical advancements with medical tourism, is set to begin in the second quarter of 2010 at the Asbru Enterprise Park in Keflavik, Iceland.

An ex-military hospital in the Asbru Enterprise Park, situated near Keflavik International Airport, is expected to have substantial renovations in the second quarter of 2010. The hospital specialising in fat-removal, joint replacements and other medical treatments will house around 35 hospital beds, three operating theatres and all together have the capability of treating up to 4,000 patients per year.

General knowledge quiz to highlight role of technology in learning launched by Becta

Becta - National Schools QuizBecta, the government agency for technology in education, has launched a national online schools quiz that will be taking place on Friday 12th March. The Next Generation Learning National Schools Quiz will be an exclusively online competition, via the National Education Network (NEN), demonstrating the effect and innovative use of technology in learning. Becta hopes to see thousands of Key Stage 2 primary school children compete simultaneously all across the country, in the battle to become the ‘Brainiest school in Britain’.

Airports Council International announces Keflavik International Airport best in Europe

Keflavik-Airport-Quality-Survey-small23According to a recent Airport Service Quality survey, conducted by the Airports Council International, Keflavik International Airport has been voted the best airport in Europe. This detailed survey, is published quarterly, as well as annually, with 140 airports taking part worldwide, 48 of which are in Europe. Keflavik International Airport came out on top in the poll, in which travellers answered questions on airport service and quality.

Iceland’s only international airport scored greatly in passenger satisfaction, due to its welcoming atmosphere, simplicity of connecting flights and friendly staff.

Seymourpowell - AircruiseLeading design and innovation company, Seymourpowell, recently introduced Aircruise, an innovative development in transportation design. This giant, vertical airship is powered by natural energy and designed to carry travellers in style and luxury. Although only a conceptual proposal, the transportation design team at Seymourpowell developed detailed and achievable technical specification for the craft.

Seymourpowell’s Aircruise concept is a new innovative design for a hotel in the sky, allowing for low passenger numbers with huge internal spaces. The Aircruise would offer room for living, dining and relaxing, as well as inspiring public spaces with glass viewing floors and look out points. Flights to Minneapolis with Icelandair in time for summer

MinneapolisIceland’s leading airline, Icelandair, have recently publicised the reopening of transatlantic flights to Minneapolis St. Paul airport, according to their Iceland summer schedule.

These flights to the North American Mid-West are set to open between May 11th and October 9th this year, including daily flights with Icelandair from June 13th to August 22nd.
